Howdy! I'm Leah and I am a

design researcher.

I use qualitative research and market trend analysis to influence product design and strategy.

By filling in the gaps between intent and behavior with theory-driven reasoning and creativity. I make interactive solutions that bring people closer to each other and the spaces around them.

Highlighted Projects:

Brand Voice

Qualitative research to evaluate the perception of a $120 million global brand campaign.

Group Of Athletes

Product Perception

Multi-day field research with physical prototypes to measure perception and value of product lines worth $500M.

Runners on Crosswalk

Sony: Tailgate

Blue-sky product design project sponsored by Sony Electronics. Created for the future of the live at-home sports watching experience.

Family Watching Game

SKILLS

Every project starts with a conversation.
My first step is to understand constraints, market strategy, and what is needed to impact business decisions.

1

Qualitative Research

Designing research plans based on exisitng research and theory.

Experience with in-depth interviewing, co-design moderation, and qualitative research analysis.

2

Project Management

End to end project management and stakeholder engagement.
Understanding stakeholder goals and building the project around timelines, vendors management, and recruitment ops.

3

Solution Design

Designing solutions beyond the immediate problem.

Working collaboratively to ideate, protoype, and test solutions for the future. Creating solutions that exist within our daily lives.

Why research?
To make sense of the Why from the What.

In anthropology, Culture is how people interact with the environment around them. Meaning, we can observed the deeper understanding of people through ethnographic means. However, it only scracthes the surface -- the what.

Further reasoning behind someone's actions is the why, and that can depend on a various unobservable phenomenon.

Like an archaeologist, I find bits of reasoning on the surface that allow me to dig deeper to understand the reasoning behind the action.
